Kristan Higgins takes us back to the sleepy fishing town of Gideon's Cove in the novel Somebody To Love. Like the Holly Rollers could say this book gives readers the "Warm Fuzzles" when finished and as the story weaves around we are entranced by these two characters who are like magnets trying to attract and repel each other all the time.
Parker Welles is a big time author and the prospect of finding the next book series to write has gotten her in s bit of a slump, but her life soon changes for the worst when her multi-million dollar life crumbles as her father is up in embezzlement charges and just about everything she has is being liquidated. Trying to hold her life together while her five year old son in on vacation, Parker finds herself the owner of an inherited shack up the coast of Maine in Gideon's Cove.
James Cahill has a dark past but he is trying to come above water after his boss's arrest, Parker's father Harry, finding himself love in all of the wrong places in Parker Welles while in Maine helping fix up her new house. Where will these two characters find themselves and while they are fixing the house is can really also fix the heartache in themselves. Can these two great characters put their pasts behind them and come out in the end with everything they ever wanted, maybe in each other?
Kristan Higgins has done it again in Somebody To Love but not only revisiting the fun characters from Gideon's Cover we have met prior in Catch of the Day to the snarky and fun conversations throughout the characters that readers have grow to love inherit in Higgins' books. What can happen in a summer fling on the coast of Maine? Find out soon in Somebody To Love, because as the characters soon realize there is always someone out there in possible the least expected places.
