Read from March 07 to 08, 2012
I can go to the library blindfolded and I will leave with at least one book about the persecution of the Jews/or one of the World Wars, a book about the Irish and a book about India. It is as if they call out to me in silent whispers. I always try to ignore those mutterings, knowing that reading these books will leave me feeling despondent and wrung-out.
An Atlas of Impossible Longing was no different. It is beautifully written, the characters are well-drawn and the story told simply. Yet it left me feeling devastated on more than one level.
