I only read a few of these essays because most of the subjects were things I'm not familiar with. I love the way he writes essays. His journalism is dry and matter-of-fact, while packing in a whole world of subliminal messages, judgements, and convictions. Eventually I'd like to be well read/cultured enough to read and understand all the essays, in not only this book, but his whole collection.
