If you haven't read any books by Jen Lancaster, I suggest you get her first memoir, Bitter is the New Black, and start there. You'll learn a lot about Jen and her husband, Fletch (and their many pets!) as you plow your way through each of her books.
Jen's take on life is three parts funny, two parts sarcastic, and one part painstaking honesty, sprinkled with pop culture and a dash of snark. What makes Jen's adventures (or rather, mostly misadventures) so addicting is that they are things every woman can relate to.
Over the course of the last few books, we've watched Jen and Fletch weather many different storms together from unemployment to creating a home. Slowly but surely, ready or not, they are growing up.
And, in the latest installment, Jen decides it is time to stop fighting it. This book is filled with Jen's account of finally tackling those grown-up experiences we all dread, but are necessary evils--things like estate-planning and mammograms, for instance--and some life lessons from which we can all benefit.
Smart, biting and laugh-out-loud funny, you'll adore Jeneration X and Jen Lancaster's writing "Jen"-ius.
