really liked it

I enjoyed this part memoir/part parenting book. I liked getting to see the very different way upper middle class French families treat their children, and I certainly think there are many American families (including mine) who could learn a few things from them. I especially enjoyed the chapters on food and daycare -- both of which the French have a much healthier attitude about. However, the author did gloss over a few disturbing things -- like the inherent French sexism that drives certain parenting choices. I also have absolutely no idea what family life in France is like outside of upper middle class Parisian homes, because there was virtually no exploration of that. Overall, though, a thoroughly enjoyable story.
