This book is well written but I didn't enjoy reading it. The feeling of impending dread as each character makes bad decisions, together with being inside the head of one of the 9-11 hijackers is not a comfortable place to be. In addition, much of the story takes place in a strip club where the writing descends to soft porn. After reading this book I felt like I needed to take a shower, then sit outside in the garden to let my hair dry in the sun.

Think of movies that you have watched where a young woman hears a noise in the basement, and goes down to investigate...as she puts her hand to the doorknob you are thinking, "Don't do it, you idiot!" But she goes on down to her doom. If you enjoy having that feeling over and over while reading, by all means read this one.

Eileen Similarly, I can't stand the TV movies where some woman is being abused, has gotten herself to a safe place...but GOES BACK TO PACK HER THINGS! Then there was the one where a woman goes--alone--to a long-abandoned gas station in the middle of nowhere to pick up her kids after visitation with their father, leaving a message for her sister to call the police if she doesn't return. Why not call them first and have them accompany her?
