"When given the choice between being right or being kind, choose kind."
This book definitely belongs in the "cute little story" category, rather like the fairy tales of our childhoods; child has tough time/child overcomes by learning important lesson. It is targetted at a younger audience, and is all about acceptance, tolerance, and yes: kindness.
The star of the story is a boy with a severe facial deformity, and he is the narrator for much of the book. His friends and family also have a chapter or two each, and more is revealed by seeing their points of view.
A quick read with the feel-good factor.
