It is not a fashionable opinion, but I like Marvell. Sometimes I even like him better than Donne. And he has one of the best lines in English poetry:

And your quaint honour turn to dust,
And into ashes all my lust.

Poetic tastes go in circles, people. Marvell is going to have the last laugh here, because negative critical opinions will inevitably turn to dust, and into ashes all your love for twits like Shakespeare. Just like the coy mistress' virginity, if it survived Marvell's advances. But let's be honest here: it didn't make it to the tomb.
