This novel is set during the 2008 financial crisis as one high profile family in New York finds itself in the midst of a Ponzi scheme, SEC investigations, curious journalists and back-stabbing among their own. It is reminiscent of Too Big To Fail with deeper insight into characters and what drove them to the decisions they made along the way. The story is fascinating and paints a clearer picture of elements of the financial crisis, though I was disappointed in the inconclusive end and felt that it took too long to reach the climax of the story.
