Okay, I admit, it was truly hard to get through and I wasn't loving it in the beginning. That changed fast. It's fascinating to read a book placed in such a dark, dangerous and foreboding world and have a majority of the tale be told from viewpoints of children. Arya, Sansa, Jon, Robb, Bran, Daenerys. The oldest is fifteen and he ends up the figurehead for a war. And Dany is just straight up badass. Easily one of my new favorite female fictional characters.

I'm not watching season two of the show until I read A Clash of Kings. I think watching the show first definitely ruined every major twist for book one. I'd rather Mr. Martin piss me off with the death of his main characters in the medium he intended: his novels.

THE KING IN THE NORTH!
