I ran across this book at a school book sale when I was really starting to pick up steam as a reader, but was convinced I was too old to read kids books. I was twelve, and this came along and kept me open to good children's literature. The prints are really prints, I have two older copies of this one, Pyle's woodblock prints is what started my love for the format. The faerie tales are good, and some I've not heard that version of anywhere else, but to me, the art is what did it for me. I want all books to be this cool, essentially. I live in hope.
