The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game

The Blind Side i thought was a really good book. The book was very motivational. The book is about a boy who lives in the ghetto and has a mom who is addicted to drugs and he doesnt know who his real father is. The boy gets taken in from a lady who is going to take care of him. His name was Michael Oher. Michael Oher is also a character in the movie the blind side, he states in this book that he doesn't like how he was portayed in the movie. He says the movie acted like he had never known about football or never played football before. In reality Michael Oher knew a lot about football and had played in some inner-city leagues. He also said he didn't like how he was portayed to be not very smart with school and academics. Michael Oher stated i wasn't smart, but i did my work and got decent grades. I liked the book a lot, i loved how it related too football and i liked the message of the book. I think it tells you don't have to be rich or have the nicest gear or anything to become something great and to reach your dream. I also like how this book tells you how teams and schools take an individual look at every athlete to see what they are and what they can be. It also tells you how no matter who you are you can do anything if you put time and hard work into it. Oher said he had always had a love for the game and didn't know how to act upon it, and when the Tuoys took him in he wasn't even thinking about playing football, he thouhgt it was just a place to stay. When the family encouraged football he said i jumped onto the idea and went for it. Michael Oher said if he hadn't of been taken in he may not even be alive. I thought this was sad because it shows how much people take for granted, Oher was happy with his life and when he had a stable home, it was an amazing thing for him. I would recommend this book to anyone, the reading is not hard and its always interesting there are very few dull moments. I would rate this book a nine out of ten because i loved it, it became my second favorite book. I'm glad i chose to read the book, even though i saw the movie, the book is a lot different and gives more of Michael Ohers' outlook on the events including the movie and the book and how he saw football and his life back then.
