The perfect introduction for a newbie like me, even though it's been pretty weak so far. I kinda liked it, but the mythology is a bit laughable. I mean, dude was "chosen" (read: there was no one else near) because he has "the ability to overcome great fear"? (Pssh, vague!) Also, the ring, "the greatest weapon in the universe", basically has limitless power but needs a recharge every 24 hours? And its weakness is yellow?! (Pssh, way lamer than Kryptonite.) This better get better.

I don't like that this takes place in a universe where Superman/Metropolis exist. It takes a bit of the realism out. I know it's a comic, but still. Why would the world need Superman when it has a Green Lantern? (And a whole lot of them, if I keep reading.)

…On the bright side, at least Hal Jordan has really great hair.
