A Wrinkle in Time (Time, #1)
by Madeleine L'Engle

I love this book. Love it with all my heart. I remember everything about reading it, even though it happened in 1988 or so. I remember picking it up off the shelf at the Farmington Public Library. I remember what the copy looked like, it was hardcover, with that plastic sheeting on it that libraries have, it had a dark cover with circles on it I think. I remember reading it at home on the couch and in the back seat of my Aunt Marilyn's car driving to Pemaquid, Maine for a trip in the summer. I remember what it smelled like, that library hardcover dusty book smell. I remember almost all the plot points. It was so wonderful and exciting and mysterious and creepy. It didn't spoon feed you plot, it made you figure things out. I was mesmerized. One of those rare books that linger so vividly that I still remember feeling scared in the awful planet at the end, scared that Charles Wallace would be lost and Meg wouldn't be able to save him. Love love love love it.
