Really a pretty good read. Written in a straightforward and exciting prose, Raven's Gate is a good merger of old ideas, compelling characters, and a fast-paced plot. Not sure if I will go on to read the others, and the reason for only the three stars is that the book was sometimes needlessly grim and did not connect to deeper, redemptive themes. That said, it may be the set up for more of that in the next books.
