Usually by the third book in a series, the characters can grow a little tiresome and the plots a little thin. There's some of that in the beginning of this book but it really picks up towards the end. This one focuses on Calandra, younger sister of Sinclair, Duke of Rochford. Calandra has known Francesca, matchmaker extraordinare since childhood too since she grew up on a neighboring estate. Add to these familiar people Bromwell, an earl and things get roiled.

Brom and Callie meet at a masked ball and instant attraction but there are serious reasons why they can't be together or are there? We learn more about the past dealings and relationships that were part of Francesca and Rochford's younger lives.

There are some nasty, catty moments and a delicious almost bit of farce where Francesca saves the day. Our happily ever after includes a stunning denouement and a great set up to the final story.
