This is a standalone prequel to Sullivan's Riyria Revelations Series. No previous knowledge of the Riyria Revelations is necessary. It is a short story (just 5,400 words) so is a quick introduction to a larger epic tale.

I'm on the same writing forum as the author, and I'm now annoyed with myself for taking so long to look at his work. The quality is right up there - above many in the best sellers list, in my humble opinion.

I had to laugh though, a character with the last name Melborn and a mention of Essendon? (Australia has a city called Melbourne, with a suburb called Essendon. And a football team, who my dad follows, incidentally.)

It's a short read, and it's free. What are you waiting for?

Michael Wave Katharine, Glad you enjoyed it. The Melbourne I of course knew about but not the Essendon - that's interesting. Thanks for getting around to the short.

Katharine (Ventureadlaxre) If only the series would arrive! I requested them over a month ago now, I should chase it up...
