Although this is interesting and well-written (for the most part; there are some tedious passages), I found it hard to actually like the book ;probably I was appalled at the selfishness of the main characters, especially Mamah who left her very young children for a love affair with Frank LLoyd Wright. Wright, who also left his wife and children, was without doubt a genius and I am an admirer of his works, and Mamah was a very intelligent woman unhappy in her marriage, but that does not excuse their behavior.

This is a fictionalized account of course but it appears that the author did a great deal of research and much of the book rings true.
