** spoiler alert ** Another mediocre Sawyer. I always burn through these books and can't put them down, but in the end I never really like them all that well. For me, Sawyer is the polar opposite of an author like China Miéville. Miéville always takes what seem to be terrible concepts and writes excellent books from them, whereas Sawyer seems to always take excellent concepts and then write mediocre (at best) books from them.

This one in particular struck me as worse since in the end we were supposed to sympathize with the guy cheating on his wife of 60 years with a woman a third of his age because he felt horny after his age was "rolled back" to 25 while his wife was not. This seems to be a pattern with Sawyer: the male protagonists almost always end up somehow mistreating their families, and we are supposed to sympathize with them through it. It just never works for me.
