really liked it

Binky is a black and white cat, who one day decides he wants to be a space cat. The narrative explains the process through which Binky came to this decision and how he plans on going to outer space to defeat aliens. The author does a fantastic job mixing the pictures and words and using panels throughout the pages. The text and illustrations go great together and really do a wonderful job telling the story. I would recommend this graphic novel to everybody boys and girls alike, I absolutely loved this book. However if the text was removed, the pictures may be a little confusing to follow at certain times when the thought process changes quickly. The other aspect that wasn’t thrilling was the colors chosen for the illustrations. The pictures were a bit unappealing in color, mostly dull neutral colors which probably wouldn’t attract everyone, but they work for the story. It’s a great book for cat lovers and has some facts about outer space that could be informational for young readers. The story is very amusing and entertaining, and keeps the reader’s interest until the last page. Binky the Space Cat wouldn’t work well for a read-aloud book due to the fact that the reader has to take a close look at the pictures which are quite small, but it’s a terrific individual read.
