Sometimes I just feel like sitting down with an old fashioned kind of mystery sans blood and gore. Classified as Murder fit the bill. It features retired librarian Charlie Harris and his Maine Coon cat Diesel. Charlie is hired by a local book collector to catalogue his rare book collection. James Delacorte fears that someone has been stealing valuable items from the collection. Soon after Charlie begins this job, there is a murder in the Delacorte household. Whodunnit? The set-up reminds me of an Agatha Christie novel where multiple individuals have a motive. Charlie Harris is no Miss Marple, but the book centered around two of my favourite things - books and animals. It was a nice, light read.
