Cry Wolf (Alpha & Omega, #1)
by Patricia Briggs
by Patricia Briggs
I waffled between two and three stars for this book. It was entertaining enough, but it just seemed... less, somehow - especially when compared to the Mercy Thompson books. I'll probably still read the second book in this series - goodness knows it is probably rather difficult to create new characters in an established world, so it could be reconcilement-related issues that are marring this book for me.
If you're a fan of her work, I don't think you'll find that this book is a waste of time. But if you're new to her books, I'd start with Moon Called, the first Mercy Thompson book, or Hob's Bargain, which is a stand-alone. Those are much better introductions to her work than this book is, in my opinion.

****POTENTIAL SPOILER***** (for those who have not read the Moon Called series to date)
I really hope the intensity picks up - I'd like to see more of the community and the characters set there. Especially now that the werewolves have been outed and they are going to be in the spotlight. Interesting times ahead, I hope, for this werewolf community!

The remainder of the story fell flat, and I missed the intensity of Briggs other work.
