The blurb says that it introduces people to the series. That's a bunch of bunk. I did enjoy the story, but if I hadn't read the first book in this series, I wouldn't have left this short story with much knowledge about the world. I put this story right up there with "The Short Life of Bree" or whatever that thing was called. All it left me with was more questions. If I read this story first, I would have assumed that the first full book in the series would be about Ash and Janvier, but not only are they not the leading characters in the next books, they play very minor rolls and you learn little more about them. I love Nalini Singh and it pains me to write this mainly because I really did enjoy the story. My two stars and blah review are simply because the blurb boasts it as an intro to the series and it's not.
