This was a really good book, and I didn't see the solution coming. I would have enjoyed it even more if I had been able to sit and read it in larger chunks. My reading time has been cut down to a few minutes before I go to sleep --- and I've fallen asleep more than once while reading!

Gemman and Duncan are wrestling with issues of childcare now that they have take Charlotte into their care. Just days before they switch duties (Gemma to head back to work, while Duncan takes on "house husband duty), Duncan is called into head the investigation of the death of a champion rower who also happens to be a DCI. Some high brass is involved, at least peripherally, and Duncan feels he's being urged to sweep some facts under the rug.

As I said earlier, this was a good read.
