bookshelves: stopped-reading

This is a great book, and I love mythology, but there is a huge part of this that is really bugging me. For some reason, there will be one short chapter that's in italics, and the next two chapters after that will tell you the exact same thing in greater detail from two different points of view, sometimes even three. I could have been done with the book by now were it not for this. I stopped reading it about a week ago and haven't been able to pick it back up to finish it because I'm tired of reading the same thing so many times. This would be a marvelous book were it not for all the repeating. I fear I won't be able to continue reading it because it's too tedious.
