Read from March 03 to 09, 2012

As usual, Arnaldur draws you in with such skill that you almost don't realise how hooked you're becoming. His usual detective, Erlendur, isn't physically present in this book although he's spoken about several times, and the investigation is left to Erlendur's deputy, Elinborg. She manages to combine a difficult relationship with her eldest son with an investigation into a fairly gruesome murder that really isn't what it first seems. Little clues are dropped subtlely here and there until you realise towards the end that you've been completely had! A terrific book - can't wait to read the next one but then he is one of my favourites.
