I received an ARC of Claire Gillian's The P.U.R.E. to read and review. WOW! Claire snatches the reader by the lapels and pulls them right into the meat of the story! I was holding my breath on page one, finding myself leaning closer to the book as Gayle leaned closer to that conference room door, eavesdropping, discovering a terrible plot to frame her and her *sigh!* worthy co-worker, Jon. I found myself eagerly moving through chapters because I *had* to find out how the heck these two were going to stay out of the trouble their superiors were trying to pin on them. [it's so hard not to reveal anything that spoils anything! hehe!]

As a reader who leans more towards paranormal/horror/SF/F, I don't regularly read contemporary fiction set in the corporate workplace. However, Claire brilliantly spins a tightly crafted suspense story with a delectable office romance that had me smiling and sighing (and gasping!) the whole way through. I would most definitely recommend The P.U.R.E. to contemporary fiction fans looking for a fast-paced story with refreshingly witty characters. :)
