it was amazing

After hearing Miranda July's voice from her film "Me and You and Everyone We Know," and from listening to one of her stories on "This American Life" on NPR, it is impossible not to hear her voice in your head as you read her short stories in the collection "No One Belongs Here More Than You. To say these stories are poignant sounds cliche, but they are. It is hard to describe how she captures real life, but slanted - skewed by the awkwardness of her characters that are incredibly realistic depictions of the awkwardness inside us all. There is a yearning in her work that is very comforting to me - it points out how alone we are while showing us our similar fears bind us.
