Historical fiction book about a child who is the first free-born child in Buxton, a Canadian town inhabited solely by former slaves. Great characters, terrific plot, lots of action and adventure and a different perspective of the Underground Railroad then most other books I have read for kids. Very well written. Newberry Honor and Correta Scott King Award winner. Author of Bud, not Buddy.
