Each of the three stories adds a little more depth to the readers understanding of the Night World. A place where all the things you never knew existed are hiding just out of sight.

The first story is of a Vampire boy risking death to save his friend who is dying of inoperable cancer.

The second is three vampire sisters who go to stay with their aunt only to discover she's died and someone wants them dead as well.

The final story is of two witches that transfer to a new school where they fight over a boy in the end resorting to forbidden magic to get what they want.

The book is a very good read for teenagers and for those that don't want the vulgarity and honesty of adult books in the same genre. The supernatural people are like everyone else only they belong to a world where the majority of their kind have prejudice against humans. Each story has the main characters breaking life or death laws of their world. Making it feel that the series is probably building up to the throwing out of the laws or a war because of it. That is of course just my speculation.
