Read from February 12 to 28, 2012

I got this as an advance reader's copy and was really excited to start reading it because I have liked several of Moore's previous books. However, I just did not enjoy it. I did force myself to keep going until I'd read 100 pages, in case it got better, but it didn't. The story jumps around a lot, and I had a hard time following that, which was made more difficult by the fact that I don't particularly like any of the characters so far. Theoretically it's supposed to be about Vincent Van Gogh's death and his friends trying to figure out what happened to him. Mostly that isn't what I've read, though. And Moore forgot the funny. (It's billed as a comedy.) *sigh* Oh well.

Jason Messer Try finishing a book before you rate it. The best character does not come in to major play until much later. Open your mind, every book he writes isn't going to be the same. He worked hard to produce this book, you should put forth more effort to understand it!

Erin Life is way too short to keep reading a book you hate. I'm sure he worked hard, but his effort did not produce a book I personally enjoyed. You're pretty judgmental for a guy who's telling me to open my mind. Are you saying you have finished and liked every book you ever read? Bully for you.

Marissa Dulk I'm currently on pg 297 and I still have no idea whats going on. This book is disappointing. The main character brings nothing to the table but more confusion. I'm only going to finish it because, well I guess I'm hoping for a miracle. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christopher Moore, but this book is just confusing and a let down. Hopefully he sticks a little closer to his usual comedic style for the next one. I'm going to reread Lamb just to make up for this :)

Erin Good idea, Marissa! I should re-read Lamb, too. :)
