really liked it

Really enjoyed this book, which has gotten me started on a Kate Shugak kick. In this book, Kate is directed by the will of a dead friend to "Find my father," starting her seraching for a valuable treasure, fending off other violent treasure hunters looking for the same thing--a Russian icon? a map? a manuscript? a gold nugget? In small-town Alaska, old secrets linger beneath the surface, and old homesteads have their own stories. Wild improbabilities abound, but it was still fun reading.

Takeaway #1: Infidelity casts decade-long shadows.
Takeaway #2: When leaving messages to descendents, write more than three words.
