I could not get into this book at all. I am always up for experimental narration, the roaming lens of multiple perspectives, the extremely interiority of slightly unsettled characters. But this book seemed more like an act of literature than literature itself. It lacked everything I like about books (Solid charachters, insight into peoples psychologies, story development) and seemed to cover it up with mood and political/historical allegory. It felt like a joyless Joyce. And I love Joyce!
