I won this book from a Goodreads First Reads giveaway. I was very excited to have won this book, considering how much I loved Scottoline's last novel, "Save Me."
"Come Home" tells the story of Jill Farrow, a pediatrician and single mother of a 13-year old daughter from her first marriage, which left her a widow. Jill is engaged to Sam, who also has a grown son from a previous marriage. One night, Jill is awoken by someone screaming her name outside her house. She opens the door to find her ex-stepdaughter Abby telling her that her father, Jill's ex-husband, is dead and she suspects murder. Jill finds herself torn between wanting to help her ex-stepdaughter, as well as Abby's sister, Victoria, and wanting to leave that part of her life behind her, as the divorce to their father, William, left such pain in all of their lives. She is also trying to balance her relationship with her real daughter, Megan and fiance, Sam, as well as her pediatric practice. In the course of a week, Jill becomes determined to help solve the mystery of her ex-husband's death and get answers for the two girls she loved as her own.
This book is very fast-paced, with a lot of intense action and intrigue. It takes you on an emotional roller-coaster and has you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend this book.
