A truly great end to this series! After making it about halfway through I stayed up WAY too late to finish because I had to know how it would end.

By itself, the book tells a fun new story, this time taking the protagonist and co. to Egypt - which in itself provides an interesting lens for the characters, who do have a rather colonial way of looking at things, and definitely behave in some ways that are distasteful but accurate to the times. I also loved Biffy as a new POV character since he was one of my favorites in the previous books, and his growth in this book is truly phenomenal - a really nice character arc.

As an end to the series, everything is tidy in its place and I'm sure Alexia would have it no other way. My only large-ish complaint would be that it feels a bit quick at the end of the book; I might have preferred the wrap-up to slow down a bit. Perhaps even an epilogue.

All in all, I'm sad to see the series end but very satisfied with the conclusion.
