Kateri thought her grandmother's tales were just stories but realizes they were more when she's told she alone has the power to reset the calendar and save the world. Keeping her safe is Ren, a man she's been dreaming about for years. Dreams that always end in her death. Thousands of years ago Ren Waya allowed a great evil to use his body. Regretting it ever since, Ren will do anything to protect Kateri from that same evil and keep it from once again roaming free.

Unwanted son of the Keetoowah chief and a goddess he held nothing but contempt for, Ren was abused and neglected since the day he was born. My heart broke for him as each of his memories are revealed. Rather than pity him, something he'd never want, I admired his strength and the courage it took to continue on and become the great warrior he. Even with his mistakes, and he made a huge one that still has people fearing him 11,000 years later, I adored Ren and think he's one of the most interesting Dark Hunter characters in a long time.

Kateri has just learned she must restart the calendar (think of the Mayan one) and stop the world from ending. Seeing that she's only now learning about the paranormal world and has powers that are starting to manifest, I think she handled everything rather well. It's always good when a heroine doesn't spend half the book hiding behind denial. I liked Kateri yet I can't say there's anything unique about her beyond the obvious. She's like most of the women in this series; smart, strong minded and determined to make her male see that he's worthy of love. She's still a really good heroine and someone I'd like being friends with.

When it came to Kateri and Ren's relationship, it followed a familiar path. Ren thinks he's doesn't deserve love, Kateri is set on showing him otherwise, hot sex ensues, there's some miscommunication (or lack of) along the way that comes between them and then someone nearly dies. Predictable but it was still sad and sweet to watch Kateri show Ren he's worth loving after his own family cruelly rejected him. In the end I was happy for their HEA.

There's a lot of folklore and mythology in this book. It was fascinating to see how an Atlantien goddess ended up in ancient tribes oceans away and how Ren came to have greek ancestry while being raised in a Native American tribe. It seemed odd in the beginning but it all comes together and was something I couldn't get enough of.

The world is in Kateri and Ren's hands in Time Untime and they delivered an action filled and emotionally charged story that holds you captive till the very end. It feels very much like an early Dark Hunter book and we see several familiar faces. Talon, Sundown, Sasha, Urian and more all make appearances but it was a scene with Acheron and Nick that gives hope for change between them that had this Dark Hunter fan girl squeeing for more. I think fans of the series that liked the direction the last book took will really enjoy this one.
