This book is Mean Girls meets My So Called Life from the gay boy's POV. That's the best way I can describe it. It's really like no other YA novel I've read. The dialogue is biting, witty, and fresh, and the main character Tyler is over the top, but you end up loving him because you learn the losses he's suffered in his life. This novel is so real at times it's jarring. It takes risks where other novels would offer gimmicks and happy endings. A HIGHLY recommended read. Deals with many issues facing YA's now. Very smart. This one will haunt me for awhile.
