it was amazing
bookshelves: fiction, detective-noir-fiction
Read from April 08 to June 09, 2012

Fantastic--clearly I am a fan at this point. I really wish there were going to be oodles and oodles more of Chandler to read but aside from short stories I know I am coming to the end soon. This was spectacular--probably my favorite of his so far. Incredibly twisty tale, as always beautiful language and Marlowe's hard to resist charm. I have seen several of the films based on his work before reading and I am looking forward to going back and watching them again after having read the books. As always, this one involves deceitful dames, quirky clients and corrupt police---all the yummy ingredients needed for good noir fiction. This one includes a twist/double twist at the end that makes the book even more entertaining. Highly recommend.
