Read from February 26 to March 03, 2012 , read count: 1

The era of King Henry VIII continues to intrigue. In this tale of yore, Sister Joanna is a novice with the Dominican sisters at Deptford Priory. Henry has already broken with the Church and there is turmoil is the land as Catholicism is suppressed and replaced with the Church of England. Religious orders and monasteries are threatened. Sister Joanna, an innocent and also a daughter of a Stafford, is embroiled in political machinations she cannot begin to fathom.

I enjoyed the mystery of the crown and the interconnectedness of the families of stature. The book engaged my interest throughout and I raced to get to the conclusion. I was satisfied.
