After a long period of being too stressed even to read, this series was the perfect antidote, and it got me back on track, so thank you Rachel!

This is the Mills & Boon of the fantasy world, easy reading with very mild sexual references, quite a lot of slushy love stuff and far too much emphasis on fashion. Having said all that, the heroine loves fast super-cars as much as her Manolo's (designer shoes) and whilst she is certainly described as attractive, beauty is NOT her thing, model status belongs to her best friend. There are refreshingly no vampires, werewolves or witches, but there are djinn (genies) and a select group of humans who can control the weather. The stories are short and snappy with a very fast pace. Suitable for young teens and upwards.

I read the entire 9 book series in just 9 days, and it was just what I needed to get me back to reading again... Now onto something meatier!
