I have no idea why this won a Pulitzer. I tried to at least like this book, and I just couldn't. Choppy writing with characters that were more like caricatures of real people -- just not my style. I couldn't muster any interest in the plot line (which was very thin) and the characters (which were boring). I think it's a different style -- but different doesn't always mean good.
