This collected manga follows immediately with the previous manga. Akira is still in the middle of the fight to decide who will marry Mina, the princess of the vampires. If Akira arrives back at the palace after dawn alive, Mina gets to make her own decision; if one of the other champions arrives, that vampire lord will marry Mina.

Akira is traveling through the Bund itself, and finds allies within a group of vampire children - those who've had their fangs removed, and eat stigma rather than drink blood to survive. The children lead him even deeper into the Bund, to the Cradle, an area below the island itself, a haven from human beings. A man is there, Ab, who looks a lot like Mark Twain (and may be). The champions follow Akira down into the Cradle, and the fight rages on from there. The Asian champion manages to tear off Akira's arm, but he's still strong enough to continue the fight.

The story remains rather violent, and intriguing. The art style is very easy to look at, and the characters all remain very easy to identify. I will be continuing to read this series.
