Jennifer Estep likes to do things backwards. Most series’ get worse as they go on but the Mythos Academy series? No, it gets better with each book.

Jam packed with action from the first chapter, Gwen is on a mission to find the Helheim Dagger before the reapers do, so they cannot release Loki, God of Chaos. For Gwen, she has enough chaos in her life. She seems to be failing as champion, Daphne, her best friend is acting a little off and Logan? Well, she has no idea where she stands with the handsome Spartan.

What gives Gwen a realistic feeling is the fact that, well, she may be Nike's champion but seems and feels far from it. She's not great at the whole fighting thing that everyone else in Mythos Academy seems to make so easy. Also, she has no idea where to start looking for the Helheim Dagger. (view spoiler)

Dark Frost may be third in the series but Estep has a knack for explaining what has happened in the last few books without boring the reader who already knows what is going on. Dark Frost is perfect for those who love Paranormal Young Adult, but definitely for those who enjoy Greek mythology, like I do.
