I'm reading several new graphic novels for a State Department writing assignment. My introduction to this world. Anya's Ghost is a charming and clever tale of teenage/immigrant/outsider angst.

Anya, who must deal with a ghost who isn't quite what she appears to be, copes with age-old coming-of-age difficulties -- strange boys, inconvenient friends, wrong appearance, utterly embassassing old-country (Russian) mother -- in a contemporary private-school setting.
