Perfect amount of waiting with brown. But something about the way the seeds are planted in tiny piles on a wide patch of tilled (?) earth bugs me. Maybe I'm just too rabidly anti-tilling and pro-mulching that I can't enjoy a simple picture book about spring. Anyway, the spread with the cut-away view of ants and worms making paths through the earth is brilliant. As are the bears. Erin Stead should never stop drawing bears.
