In this dystopian future, cities roll about on huge wheels, consuming smaller cities under a policy known as Municipal Darwinism. In this first entry in the Hungry Cities Chronicles, four teenagers from different backgrounds try to stop the mobile city of London from unleashing a super weapon made with technology from an earlier time. The depiction of a convincing alternate universe is artful; the characters unfortunately remain somewhat two-dimensional.
