One of the most amazing true stories I have ever read. At times it gave me nightmares, at times it brought tears to my eyes and at times it had me gripping the edge of my seat. It is the story of Louie Zamperini, once a juvenile delinquent turned Olympic athlete and gifted runner whose plane goes down in the Pacific Ocean during WW II. Adrift on a life raft in shark infested waters for 45 days, he begins a shocking series of harrowing and life threatening experiences. It is an inspiring story of resilliance, survival and redemption. Highly, highly recommended.

Afton Nelson Just getting ready to start this book. I don't think I've heard one bad thing about it. Except from one friend who said it was emotionally draining.

Beth It was at times very emotional, but so worth it!

Shirley Loved this book - the tenacity he has is amazing!
