Michael Crichton is able to write about historical events from past and present and is able to make it very exciting. <br/> <br/>Imagine that you are a student studying archaeology with your team and you are currently digging at your site. Your teacher left the site for a few days to discuss the team's progress but doesn't return. The last thing you knew was that he went to talk to some head of a big business that was interested in what he was digging up. Now what do you do? <br/> <br/>The book, Timeline, is about a big corporation that gets involved with conducting experiments with history. Due to their fooling around with time, they make a big mistake that has to be corrected as soon as possible before any information leaks out to the public. The owner of the company gets his hands on an archeological group consisting of a teacher and his students who are currently working on an archeological dig. They send for the brightest and most responsible students in the group and send them back through history. What they end up doing is fighting for their survival to get back. There were a few twists in the story that keeps you at the edge of your seat and eager to turn the next page. <br/> <br/>The characters were believable which brought me back to my high school days when I was in the Archaeology Club. The story had your typical student that seems to know everything there is about the historical period from the way the clothes were worn to the proper way of speech. There's also the brawnier that has their nose in a book and barely lifts their head long enough to socialize with the others and then you have a quiet, weak person that always seems to get into trouble. The author takes the normally dull aspects of archaeology and springs it to life. <br/> <br/>There were many late nights that I spent reading this book. Every time I was ready to sit down and read another part, I was anxious to settle back in my comfy chair and get lost in the intriguing story. The barbaric times of history really shot out at you and I was so glad that we have evolved so much from the medieval times. <br/> <br/>Michael Crichton is also the author of Jurassic Park so you can understand how exciting this book is. Timeline follows a good pace with no lulls in the story. It flows smoothly and keeps you attracted to it until the end. <br/> <br/>I loved this book and it is a good one to add to your personal library. <br/> <br/><br/><a href="http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/1361969?utm_medium=api&utm_source=blog_review">View all my reviews.</a>
