Since meeting Arizona Storm and discovering the hell she went through, Spencer Lark has attempted to keep his distance. Unfortunately, Arizona has no intention of staying away from him. Arizona wants Spencer’s help. She thinks she has found another human trafficking ring like the one she fell victim to. Arizona will do whatever it takes to bring down as many human traffickers as she can with or without help but she would prefer Spencer’s help to her surrogate brother Jackson’s. Arizona knows Jackson and his crew of honorable mercenaries would help with her investigation but they would also make her sit at home under their protective shield while they take down the criminals.

Spencer knows it’s best to stay away from Arizona but he’s not about to let her run into danger without backup. How will he keep his hands off the beautiful woman while working in such close proximity? Can Arizona and Spencer bring down the human traffickers or will Arizona find herself at the mercy of traffickers once again?

Lori Foster’s A Perfect Storm sets up the perfect combination of rich emotion, desire and suspense to keep the reader riveted. Arizona’s character is very complex and interesting. It is quite fascinating thinking about Arizona’s history and how that has shaped her current emotional state. The things that come out of her mouth range from wildly hysterical to unbelievable, and it works. I like that Spencer is kind of afraid of his feelings for Arizona. He knows the trauma that she has lived through and believes that because of their age difference he would be taking advantage of her. He constantly refers to her as “little girl” and it comes across as an attempt to distance himself from Arizona. However, it doesn’t take him long to realize that his feelings are lustful, possessive and will not be denied. Arizona and Spencer’s relationship can be awkward at times but the passion between them is sweet and blistering. The suspense portion of A Perfect Storm is good and interesting but this story truly focuses on the relationship of Arizona and Spencer. The trip into both character’s psyche is as intriguing as it is entertaining and the romance is the icing on the cake. A Perfect Storm is a wonderful addition to the always exciting Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series!

Note: This series doesn’t have to be read in order but I recommend that Savor the Danger be read before reading A Perfect Storm.
