really liked it
bookshelves: children-s-and-juvenile-books, nonfiction

I did enjoy this book and read it with my 5 year old son. The whole idea of the male penguins being gay went over his head. He did understand that the keeper gave them an egg because there wasn't a female, just not that the fact that it was two boys that loved each other.

While I understand why some people may have a problem with the fact that it a children's book, they should keep in mind that it a true story and while tells the truth does it in a gentle way. I had no issue reading it to my son, but I am against banning books. One person may not like it or have an issue with it, but the next person may not.
